The Hokies got some key plays down the stretch to earn a 55-47 victory over Miami and advance to the semifinals.
In a game where neither team shot better than 37%, it was a 27-point performance by Georgia Amoore in the absence of Elizabeth Kitley that put Virginia Tech over the top.
The Hokies also got a big game out of freshman Clara Strack, who scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds, and 2 big blocks off the bench.
