Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reiterated the BJP's promise to implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the country if it wins a third straight term at the Centre, arguing that no democratic country has personal laws.
In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Amit Shah said, "Should the country be run on the basis of Sharia? On the basis of personal law? No country has ever run like that.
There are no personal laws in any democratic country in the world.
